Take your time be cautious and keep everything clean. Inspect your standpipe Orings. Account for all tools and parts before replacing the valve cover. And for goodness sakes don't over tighten the valve cover bolts they're not all that strong. Ask me how I know

So my be just one is bad the only code was p0275 and there's no kind of smoke just black when I put my feet in it but the dealership said I needed 5&7. I'm going to try the bubble test first want that show me the ones that bad
you will need a long shank torq T40 bit. I bought mine at harbor freight 1/4 in drive. worked perfect. make sure to blow all of the oil out of the bolt hole for the injector hold down.
If you have an early 04, ICP sensor back under the turbo, then don't worry about yanking those stand pipes out. They go bad about as often as the HPOP on the later builds do, which would be rarely.
Do the Bubble test but make sure you test each cylinder individually
I Pull all glow plugs and then Install one at a time to test each cylinder when the cylinder is tested I remove that Glow plug before moving on this is very important cause if you indeed have 2 bad ones or more for that matter the bubbles generate until the Final bad inject glow plug is pulled
iv seen guys miss one pulling one GP at a time working down the line
this is very important to test individually and there is Documentation out there if you search that says just to pull one GP at a time and once bubbles disappear you found it This only works if you have 1 bad inject
