Front wheels are kicked out at the bottom, looked underneath with truck on the lift and nothing seemed to move when pushing around with a bar exept one outer tie rod which was replaced, I'm new to the F150 scene and not familiar with their front suspensions-any suggestions?
It sounds like the geometry is off if the ball joints are tight.
You could check the bushings underneath the motor. There are two, one for each suspension arm. If those are sagging or being able to move in or out, there might be a chance that the tires tilt.
Only other thought is that you need to change your front coil springs. If they are weak then it will allow the tire to tilt like that.
Did you replace anything on the front end? The toe could be out alot or the caster/camber could be out if you added a lift kit or leveling kit.
He has a good point... When I was 16 and didn't understand the geometry of these, I tried to put a leveling kit in but it was the opposite of what your having. Mine were pointed in on the bottom.
I unfortunately speak from experience, I put a leveling kit on my 96 that threw out the caster/camber out of whack and had to get bushings and an alignment to fix it. Then on my 71 I replaced radius arm bushings, I beams and all the bushings, king pins, and the tie rods and such. I didn't have the toe quite right and when I drove it in the parking lot the top of the tires were leaning in cause it was out so bad.
if your pivot bushing and ball joints are ok replace the coils but do your home work for ride heights i have a list some where from napa auto they have 4 standard sets to choose from but i dont know what i did with them to give excect numbers but i think there are 3 diff. ride heights
1. f100 f150 rwd
2. f150 rwd high ride,f150 4x4, f250 rwd (2 diff spring rates but same ride height)
3. f150 4x4 high ride f250 high ride
my current beast is a work in progress when i got it it was had a one really bad spring so i had a 2 in. difference between sides (one side was toed in at top real bad) and was like hanging on to a bear going down the road but i got a parts truck and swapped over the coils the parts truck didnt have much toe in but those coils on my truck im now toed in on both sides and rides lower then before so i had to research i've had lots of 80 to 96 f series trucks and broncs over the years and never had too many front end problems but this new truck has been tortured
