Is a camber kit needed?

I am freshening up the suspension on my old '92 F150. While I'm at it I'm thinking about installing the Rough Country 1.5" leveling kit. Here's a link to the one I'm talking about on Amazon: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B...=A4YMN0FVY8LB2. I'm not looking for a big lift on my truck, but I think it'll look better sitting a little higher in the front.

I have heard that if I install this I may have to install a camber kit as well. I will admit up front that I'm a bit ignorant as to exactly what this means. But I know there are a lot of experts on here who know exactly what's going on. Can anyone tell me if I'll actually need the camber kit?

The front tires will sit like \--/ if you lift the front end without adjusting the camber with the caster/camber bushings. The degree to which they tip out at the top will likely be 1.5-2.0 degrees. It'll wear the outer edge of the front tires funny if not corrected. Keep in mind, ride height changes require toe adjustment too.

I would buy Moog CC844 springs instead though. They're $50 less. Or CC824 (little softer ride). I have CC844 and have 2.75* or so bushings up front (IIRC) to get the wheels sitting vertical.

without a corresponding drop/lift bracket, your geometry will be all jacked up.

this is a much better way to do your lift....keeps geometry the same. alignment will be required no matter what, but it will be toe only.

Guess I was wrong I've done leveling kits before and never had alignment issues be it camber or toe

Thank you for the replies guys! So, it's starting to look like putting a leveling kit on my truck may be a little more than I want to get into right now. I was looking at some of those Moog springs and it looks like they're intended to return my truck back to stock height after the worn out ones have sagged with age. That may be all I really need for the time being. And the price and complexity level would certainly be better!

I've already got new shocks for front and rear and I'm going to be replacing the upper and lower ball joints. So, I'm thinking that I'll just get the whole suspension updated/upgraded at the same time.
