I ordered a 2017 Platinum F350 on 5 / 12 / 16. My dealer cannot provide me ANY details or updates on timing or scheduling. Can someone please give me a contact to call within Ford to help with this. I am in the Atlanta area. Thanks for your help.

Is this because they won't or cannot? Dealers receive their scheduling on Thursdays. Your dealer should be able to tell you some status from that. For instance, my order has been "processing, cleared" for over 2 months now. Since it was ordered as retail this will not change until FoMoCo gives the OK to Sell or Ship. Then my order will proceed to the VIN release and scheduling date. Essentially my dealer has had nothing new to say for a long time. Other than I did not make my Thursday call last week (out Salmon fishing) and she called me early Friday to make sure I was OK. She missed our Thursday "date."
First off, is your order "retail" or "stock" and what is your priority?
Priority 10 is a high priority for retail orders. Priority 20 would be a high priority stock order. I will assume yours is a retail order and your dealer will not get additional information until the build date and VIN are assigned. This should happen around the first or second week of August. The retail orders will not be processed until the assembly line is running smoothly and testing is completed on the first rounds of trucks produced. Looking through other threads you will find a lot of discussion about this. Your dealer should be able to tell you that the order is "processing" and that is about all. You can get the same results from chat on the build and price site provided you have 1) Your order number, 2) your dealer number and 3) your last name. That information should all be on your build sheet from the day you ordered your truck. Ask your dealer for it if they did not give it to you. It is a good way to compare the actual order with what you wanted.
This was posted here several months ago. It is well worth studying if you do not have it to ensure you are buying everything you want: http://www.fleet.ford.com/edms/conte...00cad982a57dcf

I ordered my 2017 F-250 Platinum on 6-10-16 and I am experiencing the same frustrations. I have found out more good info from being here on this forum than from my sales dude. However I do believe they are doing what they can.
Last week I was playing around on the Build/Price page of the Ford website and a Chat box popped up. I gave the guy in the Chat my dealer code and order number and he found my truck. This is from the chat:
Mike says:
I appreciate your patience. I see that your 2017 Super Duty is in processing. This means that it's in the queue to be built.
Mike says:
Also, if you ever need an update then you're more than welcome to chat with us for it. We'de be happy to oblige.

Please let us know what they tell you OK. Good luck!
I think you will find that "In Processing" means that it is in queue to be scheduled to be built. Once your vehicle is scheduled the VIN and build date will be available. My regional rep indicated that my order will be scheduled the first or second week of August, after the OK to sell parameter is met.

Ford doesn't provide much information to the dealers. They are just as interested in getting the trucks to the lot and sold as we are. I've been working with my salesman since I ordered my truck back in April. I've made a couple changes, but the important thing is to make sure its a clean build sheet. Then we just wait. In april my salesman told me he expected my truck in around labor day. It still hasn't been scheduled and they haven't even gotten to the retail orders yet, so he's saying he hopes to have the truck on the lot by December at this point.
The bottom line is that these trucks will be awesome and it's worth the wait.
Avg sales guys don't have access/don't know where to look for updates. When I was on the floor only I would get occasional emails from management on orders. Sure they could go ask, but frankly they probably aren't thinking about it until you call, and then quickly forget. Not an excuse, just a likely situation. If you stop in and ask they'll probably get their manager to look at the status, and it still may not have too much information. Of course, it'll get there when it gets there regardless, but it as a human, it's nice to have an idea when it will come in.

You have a retail order.
Most if not all retail orders do not have Vins or build dates yet. It is widely known that only dealer stock orders are getting processed/built currently, not retail orders. It is a shame your dealer can't even tell you that.

I'm willing to bet most dealers don't know that. Most dealers don't have folks who check out the forums and gain from the collective experience. I'll be willing to bet a strong majority of dealers have zero retail customer orders in. Honestly, keep tabs on orders will end up getting you in as much trouble as good. Sure I like to let my customers know where their orders are, but when Ford decides for no stated reason to hold a vehicle for 2 months, I end up looking pretty stupid if I've quoted the ETA date Ford originally stated. Patience is your best bet, with occasional updates knowing they come with several grains of salt.

Placing my order on the 18 April 16 (seems like years ago now) I was prepared with my 2017 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide in hand and a somewhat reasonable knowledge of the entire process thanks to the members here. The sales girl, actually head of fleet sales, at the dealership learned a lot from me in that 2 hour time. The regional rep came in while I was there and seeing the order guide marked up with highliter and notes brought the comment "a well informed customer is our best customer, and by the way, where did you get that?" I explained every customer should have this in hand when ordering and his correct comment was not every customer could understand or figure it out. He also recommended that we go with a retail order priority 10 and although it would be a long time before seeing the build date it would be an honest date for a correctly built vehicle. Each day I anguish over this decision but after delivery I am sure this will all be well in the past.
