Vgate ELM327 Scan tool?

Has anyone used this device to trouble shoot their truck? Injector buzz test etc....

Seeking feedback if it's really worth it..

I do have that app. I got it to work once. It is a pain going through everything to get to that point of the test.

Yeah, that's what this guy was saying in the video. Found it interesting if it actually works correctly and is accurate?

Use ForScan, easier to use, does more stuff.

Its faster than the blue tooth version and easier to configure. Plug it in, turn on the key, start Forscan. Don't load the CD that's provided, it's full of spyware.

OK thx. I C there are 2 versions of forscan. A lite and a Demo. Which one are you using? Is the demo the full version ?

I think that Lite is for an Android phone and it's like $5 from the Google store. I just down loaded that a couple weeks ago before heading to Bahrain. I'm going to try it with a blue tooth ELM327 when I get home next week.

Down load the demo and use Forscan.org for the site.... think its at 2.3.1 beta

I use forscan with the iPhone and elm327 and it works great, just make sure it's the only wifi around and it connects straight away, otherwise the iPhone goes looking for one with an Internet connection. It was $5 as well, and well worth it ðŸ˜€

Hey Randy: just a question on your adapter as I've been thinking of getting a second hard-wired one, for security purposes (one of the reasons I stuck with BT over WiFi was distance limitation), back to the question: does it also power your phone, ie. provide a 5V charge supply on the USB?

This is correct... it's USB, not mini-usb. BUT, I saw, a couple days ago a mini-usb adapter that went from USB>Mini-USB and I'll pick one up and see if this will work plugged into my phone. Unfortunately, I'm in Bahrain and will be home early next week.
