Hi all,
I have a 65 with a black base coat on top. I purchased it like that it has never been something i hated but underneath is a blue that i would really love to bring back out. The base coat looks cheap and is even chipped and peeled in a couple of spots where the blue is visible so my question is, is there a DIY homemade method to getting just the top layer of paint off? Or would I be better off removing all the layers and repainting it all together?
It would be really hard to save what's beneath the black...and probably not cost effective. You're talking fine sanding for many many hours only to discover the blue may not be intact. I would just sand, prime and paint.
