Need NumberDummy's help
I bought a blower resistor and its not the right one. Apparently theres two different types that go in these trucks. The one I bought has 7 connectors part #d3tz-19a706-a. Stupid me should have just walked outside and pulled the old resistor out and got a part number and looked at the connectors before I ordered one. Today i bought another one part number D3tz-19706-a 4 connector pins which is the correct one and also the exact part # NumberDummy gave me. I guess that makes me the number dummy.
Anyway, I work at O'Reillys but my store does not mix paint but the store 5 miles down the road from mine does. I walked in there and went to the paint girl and told her "s" for the paint code and she had it pulled up in 5 seconds. Showed "Code S Dark Bright Blue Metallic for 73-79 Ford Pickup" and a picture of the beautiful blue paint. I hate that whoever had that truck before painted it.
Was the wrong number prefix D3TZ or D3FZ? The parts catalog doesn't show a D3TZ-19A706-A but it does show a D3F, that one is for an Econoline with either auxiliary A/C and auxiliary heater or integral A/C w/ single evaporator or Hi-Lo vent system.
The "S" Blue was a popular color and yes it is a nice looking color.
