Like the title says where do you get your electrical parts for your dent. Such as the neutral safety switch or the turn signal switch. Not looking for the knockoff parts, but the ones that will last. Just curious where most of y'all go.

Best bet is NOS but the pickins' are getting slim.
I hear ya mike, I've replaced my headlight switch twice in the last year with "oem replacements". The original one was still in the truck when I bought it. Seems a lot of the repos I find are junk straight out of the box.
I'm with you guy's about these aftermarket parts. Not long after I got Ka'Bluey back, we changed all of the fluids, spark plus, cap and rotor, and had to take everything but the fluids back. Everything.....was wrong.
If I come across parts that I can snag off of craigslist then it goes into the shed for back up stuff.
Well I bought a Neutral Safety switch bout two months ago and already had to adjust it several times, and then I go to leave church tonight and it is completely out. I had to put a jumper wire on it to bypass the switch. Any of you have a place that sells good replacements, this trying out different companies is costing to much.
It's a 79, 351w with a c4. Got power going into the switch and none coming out. Such is life, I think I got a lead on a nos switch. Maybe it will last longer. For some reason the switch on it would move?. I'd loosen the bolts, readjust to where it would start in park or neutral, drive about 2 to 3 weeks, then I'd have to readjust it. This time know amount of moving would get it to work. It's my daily so the jumper will work for know.
Wow! Those are pricey little devils!
The 73-77 column mounted switch is P/N C7TZ-7A247-A (Motorcraft SW-600). There are 27 at various Ford dealers. Last dealer cost $82.95, List $184.33 (Ouch!)
n
78-79 two different switches depending on whether you have a C4 or a C6.
C4 takes D8TZ-7A247-B (Motorcraft SW-1491) No dealer shows any in stock.
C6 takes D8TZ-7A247-A (Motorcraft SW-1489) 13 available from various Ford dealers Last dealer cost $62.61 list $139.13
Are you able to really tighten the two bolts? The only thing I could think of would be the bolts aren't tightening down.
Figures its a C4, the one no dealers have. Let me check the obsolete suppliers.
Okay, I found 2 obsolete suppliers that say they have it.
NOS Parts Source, Olathe, KS has 1 (913) 220-5476
Collectors Auto Supply, Oroville, WA has 77 (800) 414-4462
A little warning about Collectors, their inventory control really sucks! They show 77 in stock, they may have 77, they may have 7, they may have 1 or probably none.
Usually I don't list them but with only one other showing available I listed them.
Also, if you do order one of these, be sure to ask about whether its a genuine Ford/Motorcraft part and not some aftermarket part.
With obsolete suppliers, thats happened to me a couple of times, order what I thought was a genuine NOS part and got an aftermarket piece.
