Sorry if this is in the wrong place but listed itt in 2 places. . Has anyone added a Ford emblem camera to a 99-04 F250/F350 taulgate? I know guys have swapped complete tailgate to do this but figured ir would onlt require drilling some holes. I was looking for a tailgate handle camera but have only found them for the newer square handle not the older round top handle.
Good grief, that's outrageous! Any reason you don't want to run the cameras that are mounted above the license plate? I just ordered the Hopkins systems that comes with the camera, sensors and monitor for $114. It has two setting selectable on the monitor, hitch and back-up with lines. Simple install, picking up power off the reverse lights at the trailer plug in. It also has tons of very good reviews. Guess I will find out this afternoon, it's suppose to be here today. I would like to have had on of the factory style systems, with the monitor in the mirror, but they are 5 times as much.
If I had to pay that kind of money, I think, I'd probably go with something like this instead and just drill a hole through the bed next to the handle.
That handle is one that I was looking at but not at that price plos I would have to loose the lock which I use. I have had the licence plate ones but found they do not last. I was thinking about buying the Ford emblem that has the camera in it and ncut it into the tailgate. I am not sure if it would work or not as the newer tail;gates have a small recess to them.
