Adding Cameras
How difficult is it to add camera(s) where the screen has a factory look, are there factory options that can be installed from the later years that would fit in say an 08 dash, and possibly a tailgate or something that this works with? I have one on my 82 bronco, just acamera that is screwed into the tailgate and one in the front grill (truck sits high enough with 10" lift you can't see the guys on the 4 wheelers cutting in front of you at the mud parks) and with the little screens stuck on my dash, but this does not look clean, is fine for the toy, just not for the tow vehicle....I like my road vehicles to look cleaner than I care about the toys looking.
I had one on the platinum I just got rid of, and would like to have another tailgate mounted one, for both hooking up to bumper pulls and just backing up in crowded parking spaces.
Additionally, if I could find a system that would work, I would like to have one mounted on the back of my trailer as well (20ft enclosed) that I could plug in when I'm towing that, and possibly an approach camera, again, for those times when you need to get up tight against something, but don't want to actually hit stuff.
Or is this a job that would need to go to an audio customization type shop to get done?
2008-2010 is another run
if you get a 2007 model, you can do what I did. I used OEM F-150 camera and mirror

if you get an 08+ truck, the camera is molded into the tailgate handle. I had to drill and mount the F-150 camera to my 06 tailgate. I plan on eventually buying a 2008 tailgate.
it's a little pricey. I dropped about $350 all told. You can get a generic liscence plate camera for under $100.

They just shipped me a mini IR day/night camera for our new Transit Connect. That camera is attached to a Pioneer stereo/gps unit.
We have been buying gear from them for a long time. They have everything in stock and know the stuff cold.
