"Keep Alive Memory" Question

2007 F250 Auto. Going to disconnect both batteries this weekend for a couple of hours to upgrade battery cables. Is there a way to not loose shift strategy & Turbo strategy?

You don't lose any programming (except maybe the radio settings and trip meter) by disconnecting the battery cables. If anything it might benefit the transmission by letting it "relearn" it's shifting. The VGT relearn from disconnecting battery cables ONLY affects 03/early 04 trucks.

Hi Tim, thanks, that is really good news. I guess I will look up the tranny relearn procedure, I think I have it saved on my thumb drive.

If your still worried about there is a little tool that you plug into
the lighter and it will supply power for the KAM.

But like Tim said it's really no big deal. Here is the funny thing
my aftermarket stereo does not loose the presets or the time.
Even after a a week.

Hi Sean, thanks for chiming in. I plan on using my 12 volt portable jumper in the lighter socket, should last for days.

The stock radio ('05 Excursion) retains it's presets when the batteries are disconnected.

The radio doesn't store the "RDBS" setting (Radio Data Broadcast Setting)
So, if you have enabled the radio to show the song/station ID info, THAT will need to be set again - but all the presets are stored in memory that "remembers" without battery.
