Went to a somewhat local bone yard this morning. Picked a nice non cracked dash pad, and an 8' bed, which I pick up Saturday. The prices I thought were reasonable, $30.00 for the pad, and $400.00 for the bed.
Has anyone figured a way to maybe reinforce the speaker hole area? I'd like to try and stop the inevitable cracks, if possible. Also, any tips, before I dye it? It's a sort of gray color, and it's going to be dark blue.
They had another one, in light blue, almost as nice, same price. It had 2 tiny cracks, near where the radio face plate would be. Would be hard to see once installed.
I am doing the same thing right now...wanting to reinforce the speaker hole area before painting. Does anyone have solutions or suggestions for this? I was planning to try bondo on my old dash pad first, to see how it works.
Sometime back, maybe 5 yrs or so, a girl fixed her speaker grill and it turned out good. Can't recall her name but it should be searchable on the site.
I bought a dash cap cover and have been very happy with it. Made in San Angelo Tx. Coverlay is the brand.
I keep a sun protector across front window now. The sun is brutal here.
It's in the Interior section in the Sticky, her name is Em (girlwithatruck) but I think she sold it or some major disruption occurred in her life and she's not here anymore, don't remember.
girlwithatruck...that's her! Would be nice to know how it held up, but she did a great job. 2009 eh? Long time ago. That was when I bought the cap for my dash....
Thanks for the links
