Ok so now that the truck is running nice and strong, I've been working from the inside out. In fact, I'm just behind fordnfishinlover on the same project but wanted to share my progress without hijacking his thread so here's what's going on with Gladys (as my truck is named).
First here's a couple of "before" shots. The seat was so degraded that even if you got in for a second you came out COVERED in tiny pieces of foam dust. Gross.
This is what the cab looked like when I got the truck, except that i added the beachtowels to try to keep the seat dust off.
Here's where i've taken the dash out and removed the seat cover so you can see the full disaster that is the seat.
And here it is all gutted but with its correct steering wheel installed. (Dont worry, it's not mounted upside down, my wheels are cranked around here.)
I'm actually pretty far along past the point i show here but i dont have pics yet.
I'm waiting for my weatherstrip to arrive in the mail before putting my trim back. i painted it all with SEM ColorCoat products and I cannot say enough about how great they are.
Nice try Jmeyer, actually those are plugs that cover the bolts which secure the cab to the frame/ body mounts. Nice truck Em, nice to see a few girls working on their own rigs!

thanks haha.
i've seen them on a couple of the trucks in this forum, never knew what they were for...
fishing hole still seems like a cooler answer, so im going to use that from now on :P
I ended up having to watch that whole video jmeyer cuz it was so funny! And thanks for the bolt cover answer pkupman!
Here's a few more pics of the next stage. Of course I cleaned everything! That cab hasnt been that clean since it rolled off the assembly line! Then i sanded off the rust and hit it with "rust inhibitor primer" then shot the whole floor with a rustoleum rattle can just to make sure no bare metal was exposed. At that point i saw that fordnfishin had put on a spray sound dampener which reminded me that i'd read about how people were having really good results using "frost king" duct insulation for that purpose on some corvette and custom sound forums. So I ran to home depot and bought a couple of rolls of that and proceeded to lay it down on the floor. It came out slightly cheaper than LMC's sound deadener kit but took longer to install since LMC's product is pre-cut.
And here's the charcoal gray carpet. I'll have to take the running boards back off to get the new weatherstrip in, of course, but went ahead and put them on for now.
I got it from Auto Truck Trim Supply. It was the least expensive i found anywhere and customer service was super nice. It's good quality, nice padding comes with it, and a really good fit too...not perfect fit...but pretty dang close to it. Here's the link: Auto Truck Trim Supply
believe me dan i'm hurrying!
stoopid work getting in my way!
