Few questions about reinstalling the HVAC box after a head stud job. I drained the system and then wrapped the hoses up with bags and zip tied them. I finally have the head stud job complete (1 week).
I am wondering if I need to hook the freon lines back up in order to start the truck. If I have the compressor unplugged it shouldn't try and circulate freon right? This way I can check for engine leaks and be sure whatever is in there wont be shooting out at me or damaging the compressor.
To reinstall it do I just oil up the orings and connect everything back up? Like I said the system has been out for about 1-2 weeks so I want to make sure I don't need to get it flushed or do anything else. I was planning on connecting everything and taking it somewhere to get it properly refilled.

Good decision. The system has to be vacuumed to 28"hg to remove moisture.
Awesome thank you guys. I just wanted to be sure since there was a forum where a dodge guy was dumping some kind of stuff in there and saying he had to disconnect and reconnect over night since the freon would harden or jell?

JMHO, if it didn't come in the system, AC, from the factory don't use it. Those cure all sealers will cost you way more than they'll ever save you.
