Hi, a 76. For the cost of having stock used resized ($80 bolts, $20 for bushings another $150 for the machine shop) there might be value in aftermarket replacement. H beam just to heavy.

The aftermarket H beam rods in my 406 FE engine are close to the same weight as stock rods and lighter than the CJ style rod that came in my engine, also the cheapest set of aftermarket rods will cost more than it does to recondition the stock rods.
I've driven FT powered log trucks and dump trucks along with FE powered cars and pickups. I've experienced a number of engine failures (cracked pistons, cracked cylinders, broken rods, broken cranks, spun bearings and dropped valves) but have never had a rod bolt failure. Unless your building a performance or race engine you can save that $80 on rod bolts and just have the rods reconditioned with new bushings, your numbers make that $170.
