Best duraspark II module replacement available? Had starting trouble replace the module with my spare,starting right up.I need a spare one,any one brand stand out.
Motorcraft DY-893 says it won't work("This part is not compatible with 1979 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door 7.5L 460Cu. In. V8 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated.") but DY 184 does.
Suggestions on what to buy for a spare.

 

Go with Motorcraft DY-184. Back up, second choice would be NAPA.

 

Kinda steep at $995 but it comes with this self tuning EFI setup. I'm undecided whether to leave the duraspark box on the fender or remove it and the wiring

Ebay BS stuff. It had a Switches in it,and when you cross reference it comes up with DY-184 not DY 893

Getting 12v at coil at start side but would not catch and run,go to on after releasing start it would sound like it wanted to start. It would go puff like it hit on a cyl.Change to spare and instant start.Just swing to start and bam ,starts right up
