If the OP is like most tech savvy people out there, he will understand that in order to use Torque, he won't have to rely on his phone. It will get him up and going quickly, but most users that I know who use Torque, use an older device that would otherwise be recycled or worse, thrown away. Besides when I'm driving, the phone is put away until the next stop. Monitoring my truck is enough of a distraction. I don't need to talk to anyone that badly.

I'm not sure what brand of adapter I purchase. I know it says Elm 327 on it. For some reason BAFX comes to mind, but that was 4 years ago. If I was looking for a new one, I would look for the one with good reviews.
Didn't consider it a slap in the face. But as a user of both, I wanted to share what I found to be the restrictions and benefits. For me it's about the immediate automatic function. I hate having to restart Torque every time I get back in and start the truck. SGII starts automatically.
As far as the phone I have bluetooth GPS stereo so it's hands free. Far less detracting than trying to view the Torque app while driving.
Don't take my opinions and findings deragatory, it's just my experiences.

OP, as far as adapters I got both wifi & bluetooth adapters through Amazon. They say ELM 327 and are a black plastic case with an orange and blue label on them. I'll try to find the seller. It was a while ago.

That's cool. Sounds like you have experimented with a few different monitoring devices. I will always recommend Torque first to newbies. It's the least expensive investment to get them started and if like you, they prefer something else, they can invest in that.

I don't agree with you about being distracted more while looking at Torque than talking on the phone. Whether it's a headset or hanging onto your phone, what distracts you is the conversation. If looking at Torque while driving was as much of a distraction, we wouldn't have any gauges either. Just like all the gauges on my dash, I choose what I'm going to look at. Meaning I can look at one or another, I don't need to look at all of them. That's what alarms are for. I guess we will have to disagree.

P2269 water in fuel infection, this one I knew about.

Help!

The glow plug codes I wouldn't worry about for right now. The one that might keep it from starting might be the fuel injection control module code.

When you get an ODB2 monitor keep a close eye on the FICM volts.

If the truck is new to you it would be a good idea to get a warranty history report.

Nice idea. How would i get that report? Just call my local Ford shop and give them the vin number?

I did order the scan tool. What are the voltages I should be looking for once I get it setup?

Look at the pics Dually and I posted. Those are normal readings. If you're asking what PIDs to monitor, I suggest reading some of the Torque Pro App threads for knowledge and suggestions. If it's still not clear, go ahead and ask in this thread. We'll get you taken care of.

I went to my local dealer and brought my registration card as proof of ownership. The guy wasn't really happy to do it but he gave me the report.
