wrench light ? issue

wrench light ? issue
yesterday towing a skidloader 40 min all was fine until I pulled into my street-- wrench light came on and trans gauge stopped working, dropped to 0. parked the truck and a half hour later went to unload and everything was normal......
this am all is fine then 15 min into drive (empty) gauge goes to 0, wrench light and engine light come on. truck is not shifting correctly and whining.......
any thoughts what to look for or plan for?
08 350 with 168k and about 20-25k on filter and fluid change on trans....
planning on having it scanned this afternoon.....

so i never pulled the codes-
I replaced the TFT sensor in the trans and the lights turned themselves off after a bit..........
I did go to get it read but the reader was down so I took a shot at the repair----
