Stock Carb Confirmation

I have a 79 f150 manual, manual choke, 4wd.

I want to keep things stock and need to replace the carb/choke. I need to get someonething on there so I can drive it- no slippery slope of modicfication wanted. After digging through all the discussions that segue into 4bbl conversions etc etc. I've found that a Carter YF is what I'm looking for I believe, but that are 'different configurations so research is necessary'. The stores are no help. Can someone confirm a model number for this application?

Seeing as it's a Carter YF, I'm assuming a 300 6 cyl. Is this a Cali emissons truck?

Okay, the Ford parts catalog shows three possibilities. I've listed the tag number and the part number. Looking for a rebuilt you'll need the tag number, looking for NOS you'll need the part number.
First one:
Fits '79 F150 manual trans. except w/ California emissions
Tag number D9TE-MA
Part number D9TZ-9510-M

Second one:
Fits '79 F150/250 Manual transmission w/ 3.50-3.54 rear axle except w/ California emissions
Tag number D9TE-NA
Part number D9TZ-9510-N

Third:
Fits '79 F150 Manual transmission and California emissions
Tag number D9TE-ZB
Part number D9TZ-9510-Z

All of these are Carter YF models

Sorry Yup, 300. Not sure about the emissions. Check that with the VIN?

That narrows it down to either the first or second one.

E3PZ-9510-AAA (Motorcraft CA-3154) replaced D9TZ-9510-M

Obsolete - No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either carb.

Obsolete eh? That's a scary word. Is there a quality alternative?

Don't know. If it isn't a genuine Ford part, I usually don't have a clue.

Looking up Ford & L/M obsolete parts, then locating them (if possible), then typing all the sources/phone numbers is time consuming.

Someone else can look in the aftermarket sector for a carb.

Alternatives

I just meant as it appears no one has an original part, what the alternatives were. I saw some weird brand names pop up when I searched autozone etc.

I certainly appreciate your searching. Saved me a lot time that would have proved fruitless.
