A mod should pull Mike's post and make a sticky out of it.

HELP HELP HELP

The lower half of the stand pipe on the passenger side wont come out. What now? Darn it I hate this LOL.

The lower o-ring on the passenger side dummy plug was failing. One section of the o-ring was half gone.

I am going to move to the driver side and see what it looks like.

Okay, the driver's side bottom half of the stand pipe did not come out either. Is it going to be an issue if I leave the lower half of the stand pipe in place and install the top half with the updated o-ring system? If they are stuck in that good the bottom o-ring prolly is not leaking I would think.

The bottom o-ring on the driver's side dummy plug was worse than the passenger side. I took pics and will post them tomorrow.

Absolutely agree! Mike you went over and above the call of duty here (well you usually do). Turns out I had Rep points to give ya' as well as I PM'd John to see if he could pull the one post and put it in the Tech Section -- it would be an asset to us all there...

Update

Okay, got the dummy plugs and stand pipes changed out. Here are the new numbers:

ICP cold81f hot195f
853psi 580psi
IPR 28.13% 23.4%
ICPV 1.10v .85v
50mph 980psi @32% 195f
IPR cranking bounces around between 28-40%.

She starts hot now. Thank God and ALL of you guys here in this forum.

One thing I do notice now, and have NO reference because I never looked for it before, is upon shut down the HPO system pressure drops very fast. It goes from 580PSI to 14PSI in about ten seconds. Is this normal?

The one pic of the dummy plugs. The one in the top of the pic is from the passenger side and the bottom one in the pic is from the drivers side.

Next is oil and EGR coolers. Yikes!!!! B.

Being a 2006 engine, I wouldn't be surprised at all, if the lower d-rings have deteriorated, causing your no-start hot issue. 580 psi at hot idle in park or neutral is dead on where it should be. Your IPR duty cycle at hot idle should be between 21 to 23%. Any much higher than that indicates a bigger high pressure oil system leak somewhere.

BTW, those are really funky looking blue coloured valve cover gaskets. I've never seen that before.

Yeah, the lower o-ring on the dummy plugs was toast for sure. The o-rings on the upper half of the stand pipes did not appear to have any issues. BUT, since the new upper half of the stand pipes does have an update, those were installed also.

The valve cover gaskets are Fel-Pro VS50691R. Pretty aren't they? Kinda sorta Ford blue. LOL.
