Friday I changed both UVC harnesses as well as the VCG. Removing the passenger side VC was a pain but I found that if the plastic inner is cut to make a door it will enable you to gain access to the lower left side bolts. The bottom right one I could only move it about 1/8 of a turn. The part of the plastic box needed to be removed as well as the bracket holding the GPR. I did not remove the alternator. After these two things were removed the VC could be removed by slowly turning and twisting it around. The reason I decided to change the VCG and the harness was that I has a low circuit on #3 injector. Where the wiring harness connected to the VCG there was oil on the connectors. After I removed the VC there were 2 connectors to #! and #3 GP were not connected. The VCG and UVH were Dorman's. All of the replacement parts were Ford parts. Everything was replaced slowly and carefully. The last bolt on the top left was a real pain. I needed to buy another flange bolt. It would not go into the hole and grip the threads. So I ground the new bolt to a taper and chased the threads with a die. Then I ran a tap down through the hole. The bolt went into the hole quite easily then. Everything is buttoned up. All I need to do is get the motor scanned again.
