2018 Ford Excursion?

Has anyone else heard or have knowledge of a new Excursion. I went to an event with an axle manufacturer yesterday and they said at winter test there was a camouflaged excursion there and they were running stress tests on it. That's all I got and all my contacts knew of but if that is true it would be very cool!

There is an all new, aluminum Expedition coming, so I wonder if he got his Ex's mixed up...

Spied! 2018 Ford Expedition in Full Camo - Motor Trend

However, there are a few site out there like this claiming that there will be a new Ex, so who knows? Only Ford knows...

There is no new Excursion being planned for anytime in the foreseeable future. It just ain't gonna happen.

Interesting thought though....

Considering the new aluminum trucks 150 and up coming 250-550 are supposed to be using the same aluminum cabs. It looks to me like all that thing in the pic above would be missing is the 3/4t running gear. Like suburbans of old. But with the towing capacity of the new f-150 being as high as it is 11-12k, that expedition in the spy photo may do a pretty good job as a replacement for an Excursion for most people. If that spy'd F-150 diesel makes into that expedition, who knows what kind of power and mpg it would make.

I had a somewhat "heated" discussion with a Ford engineer about the Expedition vs the Excursion.... and he said "never".

I'm guessin' that's code for probably Not sure I could afford one at about 80K.

Even if a new Ex was built, as noted it would be $80k !!! As much as I love my Ex, no way no how would I spend that amount of money on a new one. Never gonna happen

It "would" look like the Expedition... which is molded after the F150, which now shares the cab configuration with the Super duty line.

Nothing new or different to see that isn't already out there.

...just sayin'
