04 HPOP system

Hello everyone I'm driving a 05 excursion that came with a 04 engine. Could somebody explain to me what HPOP I have? Also does it have the newer style wavy oil rail with the standpipes/dummy plugs? Seems to be running fine I'm just a bit confused as to what style of HPOP system I have. Thanks for the help.

I can't tell you what version you have, and I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable than me will be by shortly, but I just went through mine and I'll be the firest to tell you to go and buy the new stand pipe and dummy plugs, the new interlocking 2 piece version is leaps and bounds better than the original. Save yourself a no start problem in the future.

Yes for sure. I want to slowly start getting the parts together. Just need to know what to buy. Thanks.

Mine never had a scoop in the EGR up pipe and it has throttle plates so I'm thinking late 04 build with the new style oil rails and the old style pump. So why when I look for a HPOP they are listed as 2004.5 to 2007 when infact all 2003 and 2004 pumps are the old style. Or am I way out to lunch here.

If you have an oil cooler cover that is flat, then it's the old pump. ICP in valve cover, you have dummy plugs and standpipes with wavy rails.... no STC fitting.

Old style pump for sure yep. IIRC I think many of the Ex's had the early builds, yours is a "late build early build", to make it more confusing
You have the wavy oil rails, SP's and DP's but the early style HPOP with no STC.
That's great you have it that clean, props to you for that. Lessens the chance you will end up with crud in the IPR screen.

Right on. Thanks for your help. That picture was from awhile back when I changed my oil cooler and did my EGR delete. Forgot I had that picture.
