Hey guys just got my first ford. That being said I don't know much about it. It is an 86 6.9 idi. I bought it not running as a project and cannot get it to start I have fuel all the way to the fuel pump but can't get anything out of the shradder valve any ideas what's going on. I've drained two batteries Is there still just air in the line??

Reason: Title auto corrected to Ido instead of idi
How do you know you are getting fuel to the pump? A couple things to try, get a piece of hose on the suction side of th pump and sticknit in a can of fuel. This is in case you have a pinhole between the pump and tank and are sucking air.
You ca put a 3/8 squeeze bulb between the pump and filter. Use it to manually prime the system without killing your batteries and starter. Most walmarts carry them with the boating stuff.
The truck has an inline filter that I can see fuel running through, I also cracked the line at the pump and fuel comes out..I cracked the line at the filter housing and nothing. What's the wire coming off the line? Could it be causing any problems?
You are saying you "have fuel" at one end of the line and don't at the other. That would indicate a clogged line which is very unlikely. How are you determining you have fuel at the pump outlet? If you disconnect the line you should see spurts of fuel as you crank the engine.
Um, one of two things:
Either A, you aren't taking that upper fitting off completely. That's an o-ring sealed connection, and it may not leak at all until you remove the nut completely and then pull the pipe out of it's fitting.
Or B, your fuel pump is totally shot, and the only reason you are getting any fuel at the bottom is due to gravity feed.
I know it's getting fuel at the outlet because it comes out as I crank and up top I took the line completely apart and still have nothing. I just put a fuel pump on it yesterday. So it shouldn't be that and the line isn't clogged because I can blow through it
