Alright I bought a bronco a few weeks back and I've done nothing but stay under this dang thing. I thought I had it all figured out ready to fire it up but it won't run over. I replaced the column cylinder to start with. The previous owner didn't have a key an it was locked up. So I drilled it out and replaced it. Then I tried turning it over and it had power throughout the truck all the way to the rear window could roll up and down. But, it wasn't turning the starter. So I thought it be the solenoid. Replaced that. Same issue. Ha power throughout the truck but still no power to the starter. Tomorrow I will attempt to start it from the solenoid itself and see if it's gettin power at all to the starter. It is a 1990 ford bronco custom with a 5.0l 302 in it. Please! Need help! Planning a major trip to Kansas within the month and need it running ASAP!!!
Yes try to jump the positive side of solinoid to the S terminal with a screwdriver. If it starts that's a good start. When you turn key do you hear any audiable sound like a click in dash? When you turn key try shifting the gear selector around in every position while holding key. Have you looked at neutral safety switch and if is is adjusted and if there is power there? I've had same problem and checked everything. Finally I just wired a hidden momentary button under dash yesterday. Now I turn key ignition on and push button to start. I really wanted to fix it right but never could figure it out so what the hell it works.

No, see when I bought it there was a push start button in there, it just wasn't hooked up an I've been focusing on the main problem. It's something electrical from what I can tell.and I tried jumping the s terminal and still nothing
Sounds like a bad battery cable
When i had this same problem I removed the cables from the battery and cleaned the cable ends & battery posts. Put it back together & still no start.
Grabbed my jumper cables and connected one end of a cable to the starter relay and the other end to the positive battery post. Still no joy/no crank
Connected from negative battery post to engine block and when it fired right up i knew the negative cable was shot.
A quick/simple way to test for a bad cable.
