Ok, my starter is from db electrical and is only 5 months old. My batters are new and charged, and my ignition switch seems to be working properly. My problem is sometimes (very rarely) when you turn the key to start the truck I get nothing. Everything lights up and wait to start light comes on but try to start tuck and nothing. when it is doing this I can not jump the starter solinoid either. Will do the same thing nothing. If the solinoid relay is bad will it not let you jump the truck off this way or is it something else wrong.
Update.
I firgured I will post up that I am still having the issue from time to time, but I also have found that when it happens if I cycle the key over and over really fast it will normally start working again after 5-10 cycles....... And go back to working just fine till it randomly does it again..... Any clues
if it will not roll when you jump the starter directly it sounds like the starter is bad I would talk to whom ever you bought the starter from and find out what they think and what their warranty is, they may give you a new one.
If you're not getting any reaction at all when you turn the key to start, try jamming the shift lever further up into park or shifting down to neutral and starting. If your truck thinks it's in gear, nothing will happen when you turn the key.
If the starter was locked up, you'd probably hear a click at first and holding the key to start for 5 seconds would make the battery cable hot to the touch. Which is of course another easy check to try.
