This is a 1968 (assembled March 1968), it's not a 1976.
Notice the 131" wheelbase stamped on the Warranty Plate. If this was a 1976, the wheelbase would be 133."
This truck was assembled in Oakville Ontario Canada, but according to the DSO code of 448874 it was ordered from the Twin Cities MN Ford District Sales Office.
Mercury trucks were only sold new in Canada, and AFAIK, 1968 Merc's were assembled in late 1967, but not in 1968.
The reason there were 1946/68 Mercury trucks: Tariff's existed between the US/Canada, when they were abolished in 1967, Mercury trucks were cancelled.
