I was wondering becuase my headlight switch went out and when I got the new one they asked for a vin and it didn't match for what they had

R11 = There is no such series code of R11 for any Ford vehicle.

If it's a F100 4WD, it's F11. If it's an F100 2WD, it's F10.

Y = 360 2V

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant

X41281 = 1975.

just went out and looked at my sticker it does start with a f so I guees I need to find out why my registration shows it starting with a r.whats the difference in the two switches autozone sales I just got the one they had in stock and it seems to work

The R is a TYPO.

When the truck was registered, either when it was new, or when the ownership changed, someone typed a R in error instead of the F.

The difference in the two switches is: D3ZZ11654A is a genuine Ford/Motorcraft switch.

The switch you bought from Auto-Zone prolly isn't a genuine Ford/Motorcraft switch, and was prolly made in China.

Most of the parts sold by cut rate chain autoparts stores like Auto-Zone, Kragens, O'Reilly's, Shucks, Checker and etc are made in the Orient, usually in China.

 

autozone sells 2 different switches the one I bought is to #c24999 and the other is from #c25000 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...dName=Duralast I was wondering what the difference is between the two and the difference in the vin becuase it seems I bought the wrong one but is working as of now

 

Since I've never bought anything from Auto-Zone except wax, I have no clue what the difference is between the two 'gypo' switches they sell.
