There is a fastener supplier here in town named Ababa Bolt, they have virtually anything that I have ever needed in the way of hardware. I have been told that these shops are commonly found near airports...which is the case here. I buy most items in bulk there, usually in boxes of 25 - 100 pieces. Storing these boxes got to be a hassle until I found these cabinets, they are a great investment and make getting to the piece you need very simple.
Yes thank you all for some great advice. Sorry I can't multi quote on my phone. I ordered some 7/16 and will use the never seez. I ordered from Albany bolt co alot of sizes . I would like to confirm all the bolts are SAE. One of the reasons I want to buy in bulk is I have several trucks yet to build.
Charlie and Beav, Thank you for the knowledge about stainless and the need for anti seize on it , I just wish I knew about it B4, as almost anything that isn't grade 5 or 8 on my truck is now stainless. Well I guess I wont have to worry about them falling off.LOL
I buy most of my common nuts, bolts and washers at Kitts Tools $1.99/lb for all sizes, threads and head types.
Then if I have something unusual like SS hex head i go to Metrobolt.
They are both local for me. But there are many others that have web-ordering. Just Google what you want. I'm not sure where you are in Maryland but I know some serious hotrod/Jeep guys near Rockville that I'm sure know if you can't find any.
Pete:
Does Kitts surplus have fine thread (24) hex bolts? I go there frequently, but never thought about them having these. I usually go to Motor City Fastener in Hazel Park, which stocks everything, including the Auveco catalog.
Yes, on the left as you walk in the door. Finding things in there can be a challenge. Also there are lots of oddball fasteners/bolts in the last aisle on the right.
Metrobolt right down the street from Kitts has many Auveco items too. A lot closer to Howell.
