Questions about u bolts
Want to know what grade is recommended 5 or 8? Gonna replace the front u bolts. Also from what I can find, 9/16" x 3" is the size of the bolts, can I use 5/8" x 3" instead? The bigger size seems easier to find, but is that 1/16" too big to work?

Grade 8's always GRADE 8's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And just get ones that are exactly like the ones you already have, plus here is a website that may have EXACTLY what you want.

I'm pretty sure the OEM are grade 5ish. I would think you would want some stretch in the bolts. I was told that many years ago. The torque specs are different between the different grade bolts.
