Almost a year ago tomorrow, I asked the same question, and fenders answered it for me. In my move, I somehow misplaced the new bolts I bought for my front sheet metal. I will be going to the Autoswap this weekend, and need to pickup all the nuts and bolts for my re-installation.
Can someone tell me what size bolts I will need? I know I need a few different sizes and threads, and I lost the original ones to match them.
I never found different sizes of bolts on the front sheet metal. Everything on my 56 is 5/16-24 thread (5/8 long) with washers and nuts. I prefer to use the nylock nuts. A lot of folks use button head stainless. The originals were hex head.

My 55 is in storage , but, I believe the fender bolts are also 5/16-24 & hex for sure. Nearly every body bolt is fine thread.
