97 running rough

Hi guys. 97 f250, has probably 250-260K on it. Ran good one day, shut it off, started it a few days later, idled a little rough for like 10 minutes then smoothed out. the hpop pressure was bouncing maybe15-20psi. Some days later, same thing but ran rough for a longer period of time then seemed to smooth out. Couple more times and ran rough for progressively longer times until now it doesn't smooth out. the hpop pressure pulses the 15-20psi and low on power. Did not matter if the engine was cold or hot on any of those days. Hasn't set the CEL yet. The hpop is an adrenaline with maybe 20-25000 miles on it. The egt don't get much above 900f now. I'm thinking maybe an injector gone bad so its not getting as much fuel to make the egt heat.

Just looking for ideas where to start. Thanks for any help.

Low fuel pressure, first thing I'd check.

I forgot to mention I have a fuel gauge and that is good, like normal, 60-70 psi

I know, stupid question but is the oil low and when did you change it last? I ask because mine will act like that when I need to change the oil.

I finally took a couple minutes to look under the hood and check connections. Driver side front valve cover plug is burned.

SD ones are an upgrade with only one external connector and a bit cheaper than stock but have an internal connector.

Doorman makes a one with no internal connector and life time warranty

Thank you. I did a little searching and saw that. I think I'll go that route. Doesn't look too bad
