Is there some secret . . . . ???

To getting the #$&%$ multi-pin plug off of the EEC / ECM / PCM / etc, etc, etc ????

I am thinking 21 years has it just adhered with grime ?

I'd say you're right.

But just in case, you loosened the bolt in the middle, right?

If I remember correctly, loosening the bolt on the PCM connector should physically pull the connector away from the PCM without requiring any tugging/pulling?

Well actually there is a trick to it, you break the bolt lose and if you keep turning it will get somewhat tight again, and if you keep turning some more and look closely you will see the harness connector slowly backing out of the PCM connector until finally it stops moving and the bolt is lose again. Now it's fully disconnected and the harness can be disconnected.

Yup I did. From what I am reading here a reinstall of the bolt and close scrutiny should help.

Hmm? Removing the bolt all the way should pull the PCM connector with it.

Yeah, after you loosen the bolt as far as it will go (til it just freewheels) then the connector should practically fall off the PCM.

If not then just get a screwdriver and gently work around the edges. It can't be stuck THAT bad, I wouldn't think.
