ok so I had a mishap and my truck went thru the garage door with out me and bent the driver side completely backwards. I got a door from junkyard and not thinking about what I was doing I took off old hinges with out marking them>>>>>they were bent>>>> now I am having problems getting the door adjusted to were it fits and works ......I need some ideas or tricks you guys have learned over the years this is beginning to really bug me lolol thnks
Unfortunately it is an adjustment issue that you will need to play with to get figured out. I start with the outline from the old hinges. Try not move the striker pin but adjust the door to it.
I removed the driver's door on my 89 f150 and forgot to mark the hinges. After 2 days of trying to get the door back on I bungied it shut and went to the loca body shop. They took pity on me and mounted the door for $40. Works like brand new. I love DIY and all but on this issue I had to concede failure due to lack of proper tools. The guys at the body shop thought it was pretty funny and I think that helped on not charging me too much. Only took them like 20 minutes. Hard to beat
