Need door alignment tips!
What bugs me is I'd like for it to sit about 3/16 higher in the door cavity when it is closed. The door has some adjustability in and out, and I fabbed a tin can shim to get a better alignment, but I don't see how to raise it.
Neither the door nor the body seem to exhibit any noticeable fatigue, ie, sagging, rusting, bending, etc. Both seem very sturdy.
I don't like 2 things: the bottom of the door rubs near the very front of the door sill, and the body style groove in the door is just not quite aligned with the groove in the fender.
Anybody got a fix? Thanks!
open the door about a 6 inches ,grab the door and try and lift it up and down to see if you have play.if so replace the hinge or pin if there available.

The idea occurs to me that I could somehow cut away the hinge slots 3/16" on their lower side and then fill the upper, but I sure don't have any kind of tools to do that in a way that would be reasonably labor intensive. The hinges are welded to the doors, so it would be really awkward, too.
Any suggestions?
