I have a 2004 6.0 with the 5L110 transfer and torqueshift transmission. While test driving after installing everything, I didn't get 7 ft down the road and the tires locked up and she came to a dead stop. Now I only have reverse but I can still feel the tranny engaging into drive but will not move. Any ideas guys?
What work did you do to the truck before you saw this problem? If things worked OK before, then the issue is likely related to work that was done.
If rear brake work was done, it is possible that one or more emergency brake shoes got dislocated and are locking up the rear wheels.
You might want to get the truck up on jack stands so that both rear wheels are off the ground. Temporarily disconnect the rear drive shaft and check to see if you can rotate the rear wheels. If no rotation, the problem is in the rear end.
Originally the transfer case blew apart, broke front drive shaft of and cracked the transmission housing. First transmission we can was junk kept going into limp mode. Got another one from LKQ and now doing this crap. I'm so frustrated because I need my vehicle back on the road. Were hooking scan tool to her today to see what codes are stored from all this happening now.
