Kenne Bell TS6800 kit on my 6.8L V10...need help

So I just installed this kit on my V10 in my excursion.

It's idling fine and vacuum is a solid 14 inches...perfect for my 8000 ft elevation.

Haven't driven it yet as I am concerned PO may have increased boost to more than 10 psi.

Current displacement of KB unit is 2.2L. Blower pulley spins 2.5 times for each Rev of motor.

Does this sound like a 6 psi setup?

That looks like it will be a lot of fun to drive.

I recommend you taking it somewhere to have it tuned, then you wont have to worry about how much boost it will make. A good wideband would be a good investment as well so you can see how the engine is being fueled.

Well, it's been a yr or so and SC'ed 2V V10 is a monster.

Things learned:
KB kit is worthless in original configuration. I put larger injectors and fuel pump on instead of the boost a pump.

Kit blows too hot to really add any signaficant power. I had to install a water meth system to keep it cool enough to work as expected. I seen 240 degree IAT at WOT, which retarded timing horribly. With water meth and heat soaked head unit I see 120 to 130 degree IAT at WOT IN 75 degree weather.

Don't use this kit if you tow.....it will be too hot to add much power. I'm lucky I don't tow and live in a cold climate so dot have any issues.

Estimated peak hp is 500 or so with waterms meth and 10 psi boost.

The amount of WM needed is SUBSTANTIALLY high. Over 30 gph total nozzle capacity!!!!

Turbos are the way to go with a intercooler, and even than not for towing. Can't imagine what would happen a 8 to 10 psi boost for a long hill pull. PCM will be I closed loop for moderate loads and with 5 to 7 psi boost and closed loop is a recipe for disaster. NO TOWIMG WITH A TURBO OR SUPERCHARGER. You will regret it.

I use 30# ford injectors. Some might think that's too small but at my elevation they are perfect. Your 35# injectors seem appropriate. However the tuner might prefer a specific brand as he has data on them. My tuner said he had data for the 30# injectors so that is what I put in.

Tuner Lasota Racing.....ask for Don Lasota he will email a tune to you and sell you the tuner if you don't have one.

You will need a wide band O2 sensor that can be logged and a laptop to record the engine parameters. I used SCT LIVELINK software.

PS. I hope you have upgraded the fuel pump to at least a 190 lph at 12vdc. Anything smaller and you will lean out at upper rpm.

No 60 ft times, don't race it. My supercharger is basically to add power lost due to my 8000 ft elevation.

That looks like a fmu on your firewall?
It's a little old school, and something supercharger manufactures put in kits to allow buyers not to have to put a bigger fuel pump and injectors in. It will be a tuning nightmare.

The oem fuel pressure regulator is the same one that's on the supercharged lightning and is boost referenced....I would use it, and get rid of fmu.

Tuner will also suggest a lightning MAF, and intake air temp sensor. Our oem MAFs are too small for forced induction and max out at about 350 to 400 hp.

Your setup is ideal for a intercooler. The hot air coming out of your supercharger will pull timing and reduce power. An intercooler will add 10 to 20% more horsepower. Your truck has a stock location for a diesel 6.0 intercooler.....Basically a direct bolt on. Wish I could do that!

Thanks for your tips

First i started with fmu and then the engien tilted at 3800rpm. Then i set the Wot command to max in the sct tuner and then the engien ran normal but i think the air fuel mix was to low. My times were before the charger 10.1s with it 8.2s.
After that i removed the fmu and installed the 35lb injectors and yea thats my problem now
and no one can configure it.

I did buy the paxton last year in the summer at ebay. Also i saw 2 months before that a KB on ebay could it be that this one is now yours ?
