Intake noise
My truck has a noticeable amount of intake noise and I've been wondering if this amount of noise is really normal or not. I realize that with the turbo, a certain amount of noise might be normal.
In the video at the following link, the intake noise is clearly audible at idle and as I rev up the engine. Any thoughts?

Yep that's absolutely normal .. they're all clanky out the top .. i installed 7.3 rockers/fresh pushrods and it made a tiny bit quieter .. also what i find helps em' less clinky is powerservice additive and atf in the fuel ..

Okay, that makes sense. It's always sounded that way, but I had nothing else to compare it to.

If someone removed the Helmholtz resonator, aka the Pope’s hat, from the air cleaner, you’re going to have more intake noise.
That’s why it’s there, although some people are under the mistaken belief that it robs power.
It doesn’t.. Just reduces air reversion pulses from when the intake valve closes.
