Not sure what this noise it, i knew my old turbo was bad so I got a gtp38r, this noise is pretty much exactly the same as it was with my old turbo. I checked the boots and everything and nothing seems to be leaking. Don’t have my boost gauge currently hooked up because i had to get a new spyder pipe and don’t currently have the tap to put the fitting on it.
That squeal while accelerating, and it even does it at like 10mph if i just touch the gas. I’ve had the truck for 4 years and never heard it before. Also it does feel like it is down on power some
I knew the turbo i had before was bad regardless, it was a cheap one off amazon and had a ton of shaft play and when i turned the truck off i could hear is scraping the inside of the housing. The noise I’m hearing now is the same i was hearing with that turbo. I know it’s hard to hear anything bad in the video but it’s a horrible screeching/whistling noise, And even the taping the throttle you can hear us quickly. Does anyone know if a belt could possibly sound like that under a load? I know there has to be a boost leak somewhere but hoping there is something else and the boost leak is minor and an easy fix. I do already have bellowed uppipes that i loosened to get the turbo to line up with the flange but i tightened them back down, possibly not tight enough?
I have the afe big boost filter, does that allow significantly more turbo noise than the 6637? I had the 6637 with the old turbo, and got the AFe when i ordered the gtp38r i just installed
I heard it..3sec b4 letting off then the flutter.
Retrace all clamps/boots then move onto belt, tensione, fan clutch...can remove fan clutch then go for drive once alls' been checked
