Hello. I am trying to identify two sensors on top of my 2006 F53 v10 engine block. They sit roughly across from cylinders 3 and 8 under the intake manifold. The strange thing is both sensor cables are connected to one 4 pin connector. They each have their own 2 wire cable (one cable is black and the other is gray) and then are joined into one 4 wire plug. I guess they must come as a set but I haven't found anything like this. Everything I see shows sensors with separate connectors. The engine seems to be running ok but I haven't really taken it out much since this happened. Thank you.
You are both correct. After some contorsion and only a minor amount of pain, I was able to remove the 2 knock sensors without removing the intake manifold. The number on each of the sensors is 4C3A-12A699-AA. I haven't found this part # yet or a cross reference but I'm getting close.
You won't find that number unless you go to a Ford parts counter and ask. That's a production/engineering number that they have to cross-reference to a stocking replacement part number.
