No final verdict yet, but the cam is the only remaining question. So far, the plan is to pull the engine and assess the cam. If it's ok, then replace all lifters and pushrods at around $7500. If the cam is bad, I've been advised to get a Jasper long block, use my turbo and injectors, 1 year warranty, for just under $12k. Also, we could get the whole Jasper turn key for $18k(!). I'm not going $18k, not sure about the cost of replacing the cam and not doing the long block. Any thoughts as to other options or opinions welcome.
Sorry but if I was quoted $18,000 for an engine swap I'd be looking for another truck. Atleast check around other suppliers.
The $18k is a no brainer. I think I can do the Ashville engine, even the "modified" version, and be under $10k installed. That seems to me to be a better idea than just replacing lifters and pushrods at $7500. All the other parts are still at 260k miles and waiting their turn to go south.
I'm being advised to replace all injectors as there will be no extra labor cost now. Again, mine have 260k miles. Need ideas on what and who to buy from. I'm willing to go larger if it's a good idea, but not willing to go all the way to lift pump needed levels. I do pull heavy with this truck, so if bigger is a bad idea, I'm ok with the truth.

If you are going to do injectors and plan on keeping the truck for a long time, I would go with new and not re-manned. I would also stick with stock nozzles. You don't want to add much, if any extra power if you are going to do some heavy hauling. The stock injectors are good for over 120HP higher than factoy power levels, which is plenty for me at least. Once you go larger on the injectors, you HAVE to use custom tuning, which can be a headache to get just right. You would also most likely run higher EGTs and have a smokier truck, all while putting more strain on the otherwise stock fuel pump.

I'm currently running Matt's SRL+ all the time except when pulling. I'm also planning to get the .030 over engine and stage 2 cam. I don't think either of these require more injector. I plan to run that all by the folks at Ashville and will report back.

I also run SRL+. Awesome tune. If you don't see yourself going any higher than that power level, stock nozzles will work just fine. My truck has stock injectors and I think I could even go a bit higher on the tuning, but not much more than SRL+ without injectors, fuel pump, turbo and built trans. Once you start going for the higher numbers like that, you start reducing your towing capabilities. I think the way you have your truck makes for a good, safe balance between work and play.

Thanks for the feedback. I just spoke with them. They agree that setup the way we described, there's no need to get all the extra fuel management going. That was good to hear.
Thanks for the positive feed back guys!
The .030 with a stage 2 will give you a great engine with extra HP and torque without spending a whole bunch of extra money.

Get off the internet and go work on my engine! Can't wait to get it and get back to rolling!
