A few weeks ago I purchased front doors to go on my 02 X. I NEVER gave the keypad a thought.....
These are new Super Duty take offs, not southern rust-free...so I paid a pretty penny for them and really want to use them...not go on the hunt again...
Having just noticed that the left door doesn't have the cut out for the keypad can anyone give me some good news..Like I can still use the doors and have the keypad???
I have my appointment with my body shop later in the week. UGH!!
They will either have to cut the opening for the keypad, or you can get the Ford aftermarket stick on keypad that works through the keyless entry. Shouldn't be much trouble for a good body shop to cut the opening.
I cannot answer you question specifically, but I do want to bring an option to your attention should you need to go a different route.
I have twice now purchased a push button keypad from Ford that attaches to the door with double sided tape. It's battery operated and acts just like the real deal. Basically it's just another key fob remote, but it attaches to the door and you have to punch in a code to make it work.

I have these on my 2 work vans and they work great! Comes with a master code, and you can add your own! Just not sure on that old of a truck, i thought they were 05 and newer for this product.
Thats the ones. I had one since new on our 2004 Explorer. 12 years later and it still works. It has had one battery change in all that time and the lights dies 5 years in, but it still does the job..
Thank you all! Should I have the body guy unplug the original and tape up the wires in the door or the whole unit? You all relieved my stress. As usual!
You will be much better off just cutting an opening in the door for the factory keypad. the body shop can do it fast and easy. and it will still work the way it was intended!
