I have a 2010 F-150. I recently installed an OEM driver’s side door keyless entry keypad. The vehicle wasn't originally equipped with one. So far, I've tried disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. The system did not recognize the new device.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> Then I took it to the dealer. The tech was not able to locate the 5 digit code in the computer or get the module to 'flash the new device. Do you know of a work around for this? David

There are instructions that come with the pad on how to program it. Basically you need both sets of keys and then you reprogram the keys and door pad at once so they are all on the same frequency or whatever you want to call it.
The dealer should have known how to do this, it literally takes 5 minutes. I dont have my instructions anymore but it may even be in the cars manual.
I think you're reply is referring to programing the hand held 'remote' control. My question pertains to the keypad on the drivers side door handle. David

Yeah I know what you meant, you need to reprogram the key fobs at the same time you do the key pad. Trust me, I have done this before when I installed mine. I just don't have the instructions anymore and its been probably 10 months since I did it.
btw this took 2 minutes to find using google. But you dont have to worry about any of the wiring or installation stuff, just the programming. My genuine ford pad just double taped to the door. Here are two articles that should give you everything you need to know. The fist one shows you mainly the install on older model truck but it has all the info on what the buttons do. You will need your 5 digit code though, without it you are kinda screwed I believe.
Well did you truck come with the white card with that has the number on it? If not on the rear cab wall you can get the key pad number, then. If that number doesn't work go to the dealer and ask the to refash the comp with the as built data but with the key pad
I am pissed I bought my truck strictly because it was the only one at the dealership with a keypad knowing you guy buy the part for 80 bux I would have bought the black truck instead.
