Sorry to hijack the thread with a camshaft question, but what in the blue blazes is the reason they are so darn high?

One more question.....is the front gear part of the cam? The pics I have seen all show it attached.

I would guess because lifters are failing and people need cams. I'm not buying anymore ford cams. I'm thinking colt cams.

Yes the gear comes on the cam from ford.
