So I changed my temp gauge in my 95 250, guess I didn't get it all sealed up took it on a drive and it was smoking when I got back and coolant was all over the engine, now it won't start at all.. What do I do now.
Was actually my thermostat. Don't know why I put temp gauge, but I think it was just smoke from coolant being on the engine and evaporating. But the truck itself won't start. All it will do is click. There's power just won't turnover
No-crank is most likely a separate issue, unless the spilled coolant has shorted something. Automatic or manual transmission? What engine? Do you hear a click from under the hood when you turn the key to START?
Auto, 7.3 and yeah just a clicking. I can touch not the terminals on the solenoid on the passenger side fender and it'll crank right up and start but only if I do that, I changed to solenoid, and that still didn't work
Check the voltage on the coil side of the solenoid while you try to crank the engine with the key. You might not be getting enough voltage to engage the solenoid.
Now I sealed the thermostat real good, and was tryna jump is to take it up to the shop, and it's smoking and it'll turnover just won't turn on. There's a lot of white smoke out the tail pipe and a little bit under the hood
