The backorder date keeps getting pushed back on the fitech fuel pump, I'm not fond of the external pump ideal anyways so I came up with a new plan.
I talked to TANKS Inc and they said they would install a in tank pump assembly in one of their OEM style 53-55 tanks. The pump is a super tight fit between the baffles inside the tank with almost no room for error which is why I'm having them install it before they ship it out. It will be quiet and hidden now with a return and vent line built into it. Pretty slick!
Got my EFI hooked up and running. The in-tank fuel pump is nice and quiet. It starts right up and the throttle response and idle are way better then the carb. I drove it 10 miles and it has a little stumble when you go from quarter throttle to wide open fast but the ecu is still learning so that might go away the more it gets driven. Overall I'm happy with it so far.
that fuel pump setup looks nice! Seems like it is working, I am tempted to tear off the 88 mustang style mpi and throw a fitech on there the old stuff has just never really worked out well with the twin turbos.
