Now that is what Id call,"Too cool for school". You have done such a nice job on this truck, it must give you the warm and fuzzies hearing it roar. I enjoy your album, and the video is a great way to capture that first breath.
"Wow, those guys were actually helping instead of holding beer cans and suggesting things like 'Stick yer hand right there and see what happens".....
I'm gonna carefully select who is in my garage when the times comes to fire up the engine for the first time."
LOL yeah I know what you mean. I had my dad, brother inlaw, and I in the video. This was the second start though. For the first start I had the guy that built the engine come over and start it up so if anything was wrong with it he would fix it. The builder had just left before I took this video. Thankfully everything seemed right, no knocks, ticks or anything like that
Thanks guys that means a lot! I posted a link above of another video I forgot I had taken cause I was so hyped LOL. It is right after it started for the first time. It started really quick, like a second after I turned the key it was running, I was waiting on something to go wrong but it wound up running pretty good lol! ......knock on wood LOL
Hey Reed,
That sounds great! Nice & smooth - Our 351W with a mild cam is
much rougher - I like your's. It's nice to get help - doesn't appear to be any beer in the picture - what's up with that?
Heres a video in the daylight. I started it again today and it started to backfire. I couldn't figure out what was causing it but then I found that the #5 spark plug boot was touching the header. After I adjusted that it ran awesome. I adjusted the idle a little bit, it seems to lope a little more now but just right. I want to send a special thanks to Lance Hogan for helping me with my carb and spacer setup, Thanks buddy!
