E4OD upgrades?
Good afternoon, I have a 1993 F-350 4x4 automatic transmission that lost all forward gears. I was wondering what rebuild kits are best to make the transmission last longer/tougher? Thanks.

your tranny is shifted electrically and controlled buy a small computer, check all connections, don't just look at them remove and inspect carefully... and there is a relay under the hood that can go bad too.. there are 12+ upgrades for the e4od the tugger kit is popular.

There is NOTHING electronic, including the computer, that could make the trans lose all forward gears. Something mechanical broke, either in the transfer case or the transmission.
Does the trans hold in park, or can the truck roll? If it rolls when in park the transfer case is the problem. If it hold in park the problem is in the transmission.

Hey, thanks for getting back. Looks like nobody wants to help with a stronger rebuild kit. Yes it drives in reverse and holds in park, but no forward gears. I am only looking to rebuild for about $2,000. Its a good truck, just don't wanna spend more on it than its worth. Any leads on good rebuild kits or upgraded parts would be appreciated. Thanks.
