Although out of high school my first job was a cable maker at Raytheon. Cables were
massive for ships and submarines. A scale print was actually on the floor with nails
nailed through the print to the floor and cables run through the nails. a thousand feet
was common. I'm just saying its easy when laid out. Another thing I advise is to
make your harness a couple feet longer, that way if in future to work on it you can
lay the cluster on your lap to do whatever. Then use white shrink wrap on ends of
wires and mark with a sharpie...
The stock electrical harnesses for these beauties are really simple. With a little patience, the right materials, and the ability to read a wiring diagram, you can easily make your own. If your truck has a reasonably unmolested setup, the with some comparisons and pics, you'll be on your way.
Ok so the yellow line is going thr headlight switch, black line is going to the ignition switch, red line is going to fuel sender aka the tank float, blue wire is going to temp sensor on the engine, purple is ging to oil pressure sender, orange wire goes to the start relay, the gray goes to the B on the light swtich. Where does the green go <br/>
This is my plan for the dash harness.. Can u guys point me in the right direction....sorry it toil lo g to rely busy at work
Thanks
I'm not familiar with this particular year. Is that the amp meter the orange and gray run to?
according to this, it goes to your solenoid. Like the F1, I believe it should be one continuous wire simply passing through the loop.
I think it is...I used the drawing as a guide for the harness. When I got the truck everything was taken apart and trying to piece it together thanKS for the help
The five holes on the back can not be wired together like that. The outside two are left and right turn indicator bulbs and the center one is the high beam indicator so they need to have independent power but can share ground with your gauges.
