6.0 Help
As my intro states I am the proud owner of an '06 F250 Lariat that refuses to stay on the road for very long.Over the course of ownership I have learned a great deal about the 6.0 and its faults.(thanks to you all)
In the last year I have:
-replaced the injectors, first 2 then6
-deleted the EGR,
-PCM flashed
-swapped out the FICM for a 58v unit,
-Replaced the injector harness,
-Performed a coolant flush.
-Learned to Use a Scangauge
The shop that worked on it last was certain that injectors 6and7 were messing up, so I had them replace them all. Then after the truck ran worse they claimed that it might be a compression issue or a bent rod. Both were fine and they blamed it on a bad FICM. Well I drove it home and replaced it with the 58er. Engine fires up faster but still no power and idles erratically. Sync (SYC) displays a 0.
I have checked the harness for damage and it appears fine (less than a year old)
IPC and IPR values are within spec.
As for the this last issue, truck began billowing gray/black smoke within a week of the coolant flush. Temps are great! Injectors buzz is good too.
Any ideas on why the modules are not communicating with each other?
Should I have the PCM flashed again?
Forgot to mention that other than the EGR insufficient flow, no codes pop up.
Sincerely,
T7

I have a 04 F30 4x4 with a sick 6.0 power stroke. It has 230k on the mileage and ran good. I was driving at speed when she started missing and loosing power. When i pulled over and put it in park it shutoff. Tried several times to get to start but after 10 minutes it started up. I drove about 2 miles and it started the same process. This went on 2 more times before I was able to finally limp home the 40 miles. I put a new valve in and when I tried to start it just mad a pound clunking/clacking noise. The repair shop put a starter in it and all it will do is a clunk and will not turn over. He says it could be a bad injector that flooded a cylinder or blown up in the bottom end. He did take serpentine off and still no go. Any help would be great
Thanks
V
2) To get more help and attention please start a new thread ..not being a dick just trying to help. You will get more attention with your own.
3) Valve?
4) can you do a video of noise and post it?

You have Good Sync if it runs
Theres Not enough info to Say what problem is
And do Inject Bubble test
COMPRESSION/INJECTOR BUBBLE TEST
Compression Bubble Test - DTS Articles - Articles - Articles - DTS
you need to Post Each sensor Value Under 3 Different conditions
Those are KOEO-Idle-2500 RPM For every ICP IPR% Ficm Volts Map EBP Yada Yada Yada

Will check those numbers out and get back to you guys soon. Just tired of spending my days off under the hood.
Yes, fuel pressure is good, blue spring is in. It runs downhill alright. I'm limited by not having a good scanner/diagnostic tool. What I know is what Ive programmed the Scangauge to read and what the last shop told me. They kept guessing. I can do that for free. Thanks

If Vance0265 would go ahead and start a new thread is would keep things
form getting mixed up and that way both can get the help they need.
T7Barron The injector harness doen do anymore than carry the power to the injectors.
Main engine harness is the one that has all the sensor data on it.
The EGR DTC (Diagnostics Trouble Code) is do to the delete. BTE did you keep the EGR
valve in place? You really want to have that part at least plugged in for proper cooling fan
operation even if you just zip-tie it in place.
Where did the injectors come from?
How is the coolant level doing? Should be at or just the low line on the degas tank.
I take it you used the SGII as your scan tool?
Will wait for you answers. I think Benny is heading you the right way.
